How to use idMask
|
|
| When you first launch
idMask, you will see the main console screen (below) which displays
a running log of application messages. At the bottom of the screen
are four buttons that let you select the different control panels of
idMask (the currently selected panel button is indicated in blue). The
big button in the bottom left corner lets you quickly enable or disable
the anonymizing feature of idMask, without changing your browser
settings. |

If you are using a
proxy server to access the internet, you'll need to enter it's address
and port in the idMask proxy configuration panel (pictured below).
If your proxy server requires a user name and password you'll also need
to enter it here (idMask currently supports BASIC authentication, and NTLM
authentication). If you don't know whether you're using a proxy server
to access the internet, ask your network adminstrator
or ISP for this information.

The screen pictured below
is idMask's preferences panel. Use this panel to change the port
idMask runs on (only if it conflicts with other applications running on your computer).
The "alternate idMask service host" entry is only required if your
network administrator or ISP has blocked access to idmask.com. Subscribe
to our mailing list to receive email notices of alternate idMask hosts (see the link on the home page).
